You sure heard right. Famous last words on my part!

They covered a ton of ground in just a few episodes, but it made everything feel like it was on fast forward.
The Bee Train series of course didn't finish the story and the live action film felt cramped and rushed with its plot and ending. Since I don't generally read manga it'll be nice to finally get a fleshed out version of the full story. I think there's a lot of room to improve on the action side of things as far as animation, but mood and style compared to BT will be interesting.
And this was on the money. The action was better, but without the Bee Train atmosphere and the too fast pace it's not nearly as good. They butchered the episode with Sori, the artist who sword-painted. That was one of my favorites from the BT adaptation so it was quite disheartening. Stiffer action in exchange for engaging characters and plot both given proper time is an easy trade.
It didn't keep my interest enough to keep checking in weekly, but since it's still up on Amazon in its entirety maybe I'll give it another shot. Maybe once I get into territory BT didn't cover I'll like it more.
