So there's a new BOTI anime announced which is cool but it won't be created by Bee Train.

Kind of wondering if it's a straight remake, (probably it's been 11 years) a belated second series or a new anime of the sequel manga that was recently published.

sounds like it will be a remake to cover the whole story.  I always wondered why the original series was only 13 episodes.  I don't know it seems like it would be a popular enough manga and it had already been running for 14 years by the point of the 2008 anime.  Food for thought I suppose.  I suppose it's only a matter of time before TRC gets a remake.... :-\

I hope TRC doesn't get a remake. Remake of the whole story is going to take a lot of eps.

The Bee Train series of course didn't finish the story and the live action film felt cramped and rushed with its plot and ending. Since I don't generally read manga it'll be nice to finally get a fleshed out version of the full story. I think there's a lot of room to improve on the action side of things as far as animation, but mood and style compared to BT will be interesting.

Funny, I hear the new anime has already jumped several chapters in its first few episodes.  So apparently it will be complete but not comprehensive so Fruits Basket this isn't.  I've heard Blade's chapters are lengthy and for such a beefy manga almost wondering if it would be better suited to live-action hour-long dramas instead of half-hour animation.  I don't know, BOTI not really a show I'd go out of my way to watch in the first place.

You sure heard right. Famous last words on my part! ;D They covered a ton of ground in just a few episodes, but it made everything feel like it was on fast forward.

And this was on the money. The action was better, but without the Bee Train atmosphere and the too fast pace it's not nearly as good. They butchered the episode with Sori, the artist who sword-painted. That was one of my favorites from the BT adaptation so it was quite disheartening. Stiffer action in exchange for engaging characters and plot both given proper time is an easy trade.

It didn't keep my interest enough to keep checking in weekly, but since it's still up on Amazon in its entirety maybe I'll give it another shot. Maybe once I get into territory BT didn't cover I'll like it more.
