Though this is military and not commercial - the only difference are the markings. And of course, it lacks the  thread for a suppressor.

As I did for the P99 - one picture shows it like in the ending credits.

It did cost me some time to find a first generation P99 in good shape for a reasonable price. This is from 1999 and was preowned by a hunter who didn't hunt. He had made the hunting license only because his friends had one. I doubt if this one had fired a package of ammo (50 shot) before I got it.

While it is mostly like Mireilles P99, it has an important difference - it lacks the threaded barrel for the suppressor. Civilians aren't allowed to own suppressors for their firearms in Germany. An exception for hunters has been introduced around 2 years ago - they may put suppressors at their rifles, but not at their handguns.

It's a real one. It lasted over one year to fulfill all the requirements of the German weapons law.

I wanted to wait until I have the Beretta 1934 too. But in the Moment no commercial models are for sale. Military issue models don't have a valid CIP recognized approval mark, which I need. I hope I will find one before my permission to buy one expires at 11. March 2023. My other possibility is to by a military model and let it test shoot from an authority. With the risk that it blows. So I will wait until last last moment with the latter.

A couple of days ago I did return from my third and probably last travel to Corsica. During that travel I discovered something that I hadn't noticed before. I already knew about the narrow gauge railway from Calvi to Ponte Lecchio. But it doesn't end there. It continues to Ajaccio. And from Ponte Lecchio it branches to Bastia too. So there are 4 possible ferry harbours where Mireille had access to the railway: Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and l'Ile Rousse.

I did visit all 4 harbours. But after a re-watch of "Return to Corsica", I still have no clue where Mireille arrived. None of these harbours gave me the impression from the series. Take this with a grain of salt, as I had a sea side view of Bastia only. I should have prepared better and taken screenshots with me to compare. Meanwhile I came to the conclusion that the problem is me. I always assumed that Mireille arrives at the same harbour they used for their flight from Corsica. But most likely that's not the case. Claude was old enough to drive a car. So they drove to the nearest little harbour where they could hire the small boat that's shown. Mireille than made her return to a larger harbour with a ferry. I always tried to match the pictures from her escape and her return to a single harbour, which in this case must fail.

One day I made a trip with the railway from Corte to Ajaccio and back. None of the stations at this part fits the pictures. With one exception, all station buildings are two storeys high. The exception is either new build or heavily reconstructed. As Mireille's station building is only one storey high, I assume it is located at an less frequented branch. The least frequented part of the railway network is from Calvi to Ponte Lecchio.

During my stay happened something that is some kind of weird. I'm at the supposed home of the older, taller, beautiful, busty and my favorite part of my favorite fictional female couple. Trough my head is running music, written from the composer of the OST for the series about this couple, covered by the older, taller, beautiful, busty and my favorite part of my second favorite fictional female couple. In addition, both characters are the underdogs if it comes to profession.

As you can't know what I'm talking about: Covers of Gloria and Mezame sung by Megurine Luka. And as her partner Hatsune Miku. This pairing is also known as Negitoro.

Welcome. An interesting list. So the guy, that was killled in ep.7 by Kirika with her ID card, wasn't named?

Don Greone was killed by both. First they target his bodyguards/underlings and hit them at the same time. Then they target Don Greone and shoot again at the same time, so that it sounds like one shot.

As far as I know, no other European country has a unit comparable to the Foreigners Legion. So it was for the sake of "Season of Hell". 

Why not France? If I look for example at the history of the Templar knights, which is tied to the French history,  I can see some similarities to the Soldat. Being a military religious order, founded to protect the pilgrims, they gained power, followed their own goals, with violence if necessary. And some believe that they weren't destroyed but vanished into the underground and secretly influence the politics of several states.

Or maybe there is no specific reason behind it and they simply rolled the dice.

I don't know if I can do a rewatch that soon, especially if the Covid-19 related restrictions of social life continue. The emotional impact is so strong.

As I already wrote in the "non licensed merchandise" thread, I will try to get the guns of Noir next year. I wasn't aware that it will be the year of the 20th anniversary as I made this decision, but now I will take it as my personal celebration.

Saturday I was at the shooting range, using last training possibility before Covid-19 lock down. I decided to shoot pistol in 9 mm Luger this time. After reading what was written at the case, my heart was jumping and I had a big smile in my face. It said: "9mmP99".

Though I knew it will not be a first generation P99 but a second generation P99 QA (and it was), I was (and I'm still) happy that's a P99 and not a Glock, like many other shooting clubs have to lend for their beginners. Unfortunately, my results were nothing to be happy about.

I finally bought this one: Walther CP99

It resembles Mireille's first generation P99 in most parts, but it has 2 major changes that make it different:
1. It has a Weaver accessory rail, a feature of second generation P99, while first generation P99 have a proprietary rail.
2. It has an external safety, while no P99 model has an external safety.

While I can understand that they added an external safety - this gun probably hasn't all (or even none) of the internal safeties of a P99 - the way they have executed it is stupid. It's bulky and placed where a right handed person rests it's trigger finger if it's not at the trigger. (You can see it in the video at the product page.) I'm not concerned that I can mistakenly engage or disengage safety. It's simply annoying. Especially as I will use it as a training tool at home.

Hopefully, if I can find them and have overcome all the obstacles of the strict German weapons law, I can present a real Walther P99 and a real Beretta M1934 at the end of 2021/ beginning of 2022.

edit: Linking from the forum doesn't work. So  go "Products/Airguns/CO2" and set the filter to brand Walther. Then you will find it.

Today I've read the manual for the SIG Pro 2340. The assassin in ep18 uses one. He moves a lever from down position upward like a safety lever and Mireille hears this sound. But the SIG pro 2340 has no safety lever. The lever in question is the decocking lever. It's always in up position and pressed down for decocking only.

There are some more faults in shop windows. I don't remember the episodes. One shows "SOLON DU THÉ", another shows "KITCHEN BAZAAR".

No surprise that the longest and most played track is Salva Nos 

Yes that's really no surprise. Especially if you take into account that it is played 25 times in the episode previews, which accounts only as one in my list. But what surprised me - "Canta Per Me" is played comparably "rare", especially in the first 2/3 of the show. I was always under the impression that it is nearly par with "Salva Nos". Probably this comes because it is played in nearly every of the last episodes - except the "Mireille Specials".
