MADLAX / Who hired Madlax to protect Vanessa?
« on: January 15, 2013, 12:50:55 PM »
This question suddenly struck me. I know that SSS handles Maddie's contracts and she doesn't ask but who would ever want to protect a rogue employee trying to uncover her own companies dirty business? And who would have the money to hire the best bodyguard in the country?

Unless it was her boss who got qualms of conscience for shutting her down earlier.

Announcements & Introductions / The Endless Story of Parta
« on: September 10, 2012, 08:02:08 AM »
A new forum game which I saw on another board. The goal is to write a continuous story where each player contributes only a sentence or two at a time, round-robin style.

The rules:

* No posts longer than one or two lines.
* Ending your posts mid-sentence is welcome.
* If ninja'd, delete your post immediately and start from scratch.
* The show must go on. Even the death of the main character doesn't stop the story.

So, the first sentence is:

Parta sat in an empty room when...

ELDA TALUTA / BioWare Game Appreciation Thread
« on: March 10, 2011, 02:43:23 PM »
As it turns out there is a fair bunch of BioWare fans among the Bee Train fans, so here is a thread to discuss their games, most recent being Dragon Age II. ^^

One requirement though: I still haven't started DA2 so please tag all spoilers properly...

ELDA TALUTA / The Assassination Play
« on: December 21, 2010, 04:37:02 PM »
Well, since Mafia is obviously not very popular, how about a forum-based Assasins game?

The rules are following:

1. The players who sign up in this thread become known as "Assassins". Each player must assassinate their target (who is another assassin) in the manner described below. Upon a successful assassination, the target's targets becomes the assassin's new target, and so on. The winners are the last two assassins still standing, who receive the title "True Noir". :3

2. For the purpose of assassination, each player receives three words: their target's name, the Warn Word, and the Kill Word. An assassination occurs in two steps: first, the assassin must post the Warn Word in a thread where their target posted recently. If the next post by the target does not quote the assassin's post (particularly, the Warn Word), indicating that the target spotted the potential threat, the assassin can post the Kill Word in the same thread to complete the assassination.

3. The target knows their own Warn Word but not their Kill Word.

4. Upon completing an assassination, the assassin is to contact me via PM and point me towards the three game-relevant posts so that I can confirm their success. Posts that have been retroactively edited in any way don't count.

5. Some time after a successful assassination, I will post the name of the target and the thread where they were murdered in this thread. After that, they are out of the game and their assassin receives the name and data of their target. Assassinations completed after one's own assassination, even when one's not aware that one's dead yet, don't count (sorry).

And that's it. I have a few more ideas but they will have to wait until I get some players. :P

ELDA TALUTA / Talk Like A Pirate Day

PS: Actually, I was reminded by my avast! Anti-Virus, which offered to change the English language setting to Pirate language. ;D

ELDA TALUTA / Vampires
« on: July 21, 2010, 05:12:55 PM »
Let's have a thread on everyone's favorite bloodsuckers...

Actually, I am currently bugged by a simple question (and TV Tropes is down, so I'll just dump it here): if the vampires are killed by the sunlight, even if it is reflected in a mirror, why aren't the affected at all by the "moonlight", which is basically the same reflected sunlight?

ELDA TALUTA / Tree of Life
« on: March 20, 2010, 06:44:27 AM »
Since my crackpot idea of the week was met with surprising enthusiasm, Tahaan and I decide to go ahead and brainstorm it some more. :D The result was a rough game concept for a visual novel/dating sim that we decided to entitle "Tree of Life".

The game follows Ruth Lilienthal, a 21 year old European student living in the fictional town somewhere near the Franco-German border. While she believes herself to be a normal person, she is unwittingly the carrier of the Da'at trait, which makes her the target of interest for many supernatural beings and societies. Among them are the Ten Sephirot, powerful sorceresses each associated with a particular emanation of the eponymous Tree of Life from Kabbalah, whose ultimate goal is to unseal the Bat Kol, "God's whisper", which they believe Ruth is the key to.

Tech-wise, we are going to use the Ren'Py engine, because I already have some experience with it. Right now we have me as the project coordinator and writer and Tahaan as kabbalist and character writer and artist. I'm not sure he meant actually drawing the characters and their expressions or just writing them. ^^; In any case, we also need a background artist (for which I already have a candidate) and a special event artist, which will probably be one of the other two, but I'm open to suggestions. Of course, if you want to join the writing staff, you are welcome to, but you'll have to participate in our late-night brainstorming sessions regularly. :P

Tahaan is gonna post the profiles of the Sephira girls here in a few days, while I am responsible for the setting description, main protagonist, and the arch-villain profiles. Stay tuned. =)

ELDA TALUTA / The Captain Obvious Game

The point of the Captain Obvious game is to say things so ingeniously obvious, they'd make the ol' Captain proud.

The above was one, by the way. ^^

Since the project (see the original post) proved popular, we decided to carry on with it and produce a sequel... of sorts. Maybe, we'll publish more, if you like it...

ELDA TALUTA / What is breaking your brain now?
« on: September 15, 2009, 11:29:57 AM »
Kinda like the "What are you happy/not happy about now?" topic, only intellectual instead of emotional. ;) Had an idea for such thread for quite some time now...

- The Lost Symbol. Totally shattered my brain by making a connection between the Sefirot and the superstring theory. :D And keeps whacking it (brain) relentlessly...

Announcements & Introductions / My site is moving...

Because of the enormous trouble I had with saving my old domain ( from my provider's evil clutches, I decided to let it die and be reborn in 40 days, so I can re-register it to my new provider later. In the meantime, my site with all its old contents will be available under (for I am many). Please update your bookmarks, if you had any (which I expect at least from my diligent RPG players ;)).

No, this is not the sequel to the Far Side of the Twin Moons. :P It's just a little bit of silliness that began here and continued here but was unjustly forgotten. :(

So, what is your BTF class and level? ;)
