Disgusted with his advances but upon hearing Margaret I smile with a satisfied smile. "She is correct Mr.Doon. We are officially a couple." I keep an ear and one eye on the open vent.

You both crawl through the vent, making it into the other room. You are happy to find the door is still propped open by the bed.
Tsukasa breathes a sigh of relief and sits on the floor, gathering his thoughts, feeling more at ease to address your questions now.

"These?", Tsukasa reaches for the chain, contemplating the tags, "Yes, these are very important."
"I woke up here and was immediately drawn by a strange force, it compels me to find these."
"I found the orange one almost by accident, I just wondered off, then Sora found me."

Tsukasa shivers, remembering his encounter, "Sora figured it out pretty quickly. If we want to beat the game we have to gather the keys."
"He threatened me till I agreed to find the keys for him. He'll do whatever it takes to be the winner, it's all just a stupid game to him."

"He killed me several times... It felt so real... And each time he brought me back... I had no choice!"
"I thought this was just a horrible nightmare, but it's like I'm stuck in The World all over again!"

Tsukasa grows increasingly agitated as he relays these traumatic events to you, eventually crawling into a fetal position and breaking down into sobs.
He's visibly shaken, and perhaps not in the best state of mind to go outside, but you can't linger in this room forever. The door could snap shut at any time.

[Elenore]

Margaret's face lights up as you return the keys to her. Doon subtly eyes the chain aswell, unable to contain a very satisfied grin.
"Oh Elenore...", Margaret holds the keys in her hand reassuringly, then looks back at you, "Thank you!", she leans in closer and kisses your cheek softly.
"How cute! Do I get a kiss too?", Doon interjects, interrupting your rather intimate moment. Margaret turns to him startled, having not noticed his presence till now.

"Mr Carrossea!? But... why?", she asks shyly, feeling confused and deeply embarrassed by his presence. Doon seems delighted at her reaction.
"Why, this is my room, Margaret. I found you unconscious outside. You were hurt so I brought you here. I saved your life, actually.", he boasts shamelessly.
Margaret blushes uncomfortably, but she's humbled by his claim nonetheless. "T-Thank you, Mr Carrossea.", she holds her head down, unable to look him in the eye.

Doon smiles and crosses his arms smugly. "No need to thank me, Margaret. It was my duty as a gentleman.", he declares in the most earnest tone he can muster.
"However...", he poses his hand on his chin, as if pondering, "If you would be so kind as to find the rest of the keys, and get me out of here, I would be most thankful!"
Doon's feeling pretty confident and decides to take it one step further. "Once we get out of here, I'll even take you on a date, to show you my gratitude, what do you say?"

Margaret looks shocked at his suggestion. "W-what!? No!", she immediately rejects him, "I can help you get out of here, but I won't go out with you.", she clarifies.
Doon seems disappointed, but he's not one to give up easily. "Margaret, sweetie, there's no need to be modest. You know how I feel about you. You like me too, don't you?"
"No! Not like that. I'm sorry, I...", she hesitates, but holds unto your arm for reassurance, "I love Elenore!", she looks at you then back at Doon, "She's my girlfriend.", she smiles.

Doon raises an eyebrow, then chuckles condescendingly, seemingly unwilling to take Margaret seriously. "She's joking, right?", he asks you in particular.

"Sora! Ugh, that rat. Hey, don't worry about a thing, Tsukasa. I'm way stronger now than I was before, so I can take him if we see him. For now, let's get the hell out of here."

I start to escort him out of the room before I notice the tags around his neck.

"Wait, Tsukasa...what are these around your neck? Are...are these what Sora is looking for?"

I return the keys back to Margaret and give her a hug. "I caught up and umm... thrashed (understatement of the year) the man who did that to you. Hopefully, he'll think twice before coming near us again."

[Elenore]

As you call for her, Margaret jolts up, alarmed, disoriented, and breathing heavily. It doesn't look like her sleep has been particularly restful.
She instinctively reaches for her left eye which got damaged in the attack. She seems relieved to find she's no longer bleeding and her eye is still there.
"I'm fine?", she asks in disbelief, "I'm fine.", she reassures herself. She notices your presence and turns to you. "Elenore, you're back!", she immediately hugs you.
"I thought I'd never see you again.", she wipes her tears, "I'm sorry...", she grabs her shirt, reaching for the chain that's no longer there. "I lost the keys.", she sounds disheartened.

I've talked it over with the regular members on Discord. Some seem ready to move on and are not particularly invested in preserving the forum, but there's still enough interest and noirlax has offered to co-admin with me, which I think would be really helpful. Some particular requests I got were to preserve the content in the galleries and the wiki, if possible. When you get a chance, can you email me more details about the take over, please?

I'd like to take it!

Personally, I don't care much about losing the gallery or the PMs, but I'd like to keep all the forum posts.

I don't know which option is better for preserving the forum's content in the long run, so I'd like to hear more informed opinions.

 So... the bill's coming due in a couple of months.  I've decided I don't want to bother with keeping a shared-host PHP server around, especially as prices have been creeping up in a way that makes other options more competitive (and useful) for me and my hobbyist tinkering.

If anyone would like to take it on, I can re-up the beetrainfan.org domain and transfer it to whoever will take it over (so, essentially a free year).  And we can work out how to bundle the backup of the SMF forum, database, and uploaded images for you to SFTP to a new host.  If you want to set up here on Dreamhost, I can also give you a maximum discount code, though I don't know if it'll be worth much these days.

I recommend everyone either scrub or save any PMs you want to keep, since whoever takes this over will have full access to the DB entries for them.  I might be able to figure out a way to export the forum content itself, but you might want to start grabbing posts you like.  I can probably zip up any image upload folders - and I may still have to old gallery files out there even though the application itself died.

Another option is if you want to start fresh, I can still re-up the domain, and you can use it for whatever shiny new platform you'd like.
