All Series / Bee-Train Special Illustration
« on: June 16, 2006, 09:02:10 PM »
Remember that Newtype March Issue from last year that had that Bee-Train Article on it? Well, as a special and unique giveaway gift they had for offer (on the contest the magazine usually runs I take it), on that same issue, they had this autographed Bee-Train Illustration by character designer Satoshi Ohsawa:

Spoiler: show

Now the question is... did anyone here got this? :-\ Did anyone here tried their luck to get it even? ^^; Well, I would have tried of course, but the contest rules required it for the person to be a legal resident of the United States... :(
Anyway, just wanted to share the pic with you guys! :) And if someone reading this happens to have it I'd request that person to please provide us with a better quality scan, if it wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience of course! ^^

This thread can also serve to discuss concepts and ideas regarding this article in particular! Have fun! ^^

MADLAX / Madlax "FRIDAY fanart gif"

Noir / Kirika & Prince Myshkin video
« on: April 23, 2006, 02:00:54 PM »
I made this video about Kirika and Prince Myshkin entirely out of footage from noir's episode 6. It's not a music video, just kind of a re-edition of footage to create a silly story... ^^; It still has no background music. Comments are welcome! :P

All Series / Bee-Train anime characters lookalike thread
« on: March 03, 2006, 06:22:58 PM »
The other day a friend of mine asked me to check this anime called W-Wish and, though the anime is definetely not my cup-of-tea, I actually checked the opening animation of it just out of curiosity. I was quite surprised to see this character which awfully resembles Kirika from Noir. And so I got this idea to create the "Bee-Train anime characters lookalike thread"!

So here's my first contribution:

Kirika from Noir and Junna from W-Wish (which happens to be a guy btw... ^^; )

Well if any of you can come up with other lookalikes you can submit them on this thread. If possible, adding a comparison picture would be cool! :)

Avenger / Avenger - "kill me if you can"
« on: January 29, 2006, 09:19:22 PM »
For the Avenger fans out there... I was just wondering... I've always used Layla Ashley's quote "kill me if you can" as my signature, because that's how they used to spell it on the fansub subtitles (the one I got anyway); but now Bandai's licensed dvds subtitles spell it as "try and kill me" which sounds quite uncool, or at least not as cool as "kill me if you can"... ^^;

So maybe I should spell it in japanese... it would be the most accurate way of spelling it that's for sure! The thing is, I have no idea how to spell it correctly. I have a vague idea on how it sounds -> "watashi  koroshite mirou"

So if any of you watched avenger and you know what I'm talking about, and you can spell it correctly either in japanese characters or ocidental alphabet, or both, you think you could give me a tip? Thanks in advance! ^^

Noir / Is Kirika and Mireille's relationship a shoujo-ai thing?
« on: January 28, 2006, 01:05:42 PM »
Regarding this somewhat polemic debate, Noir's director, Koichi Mashimo himself stated, when interviewed over the matter, "it is there if you want it to be, and it isn't if you don't want it to". So there isn't and there'll never be an oficial version of the facts (which only makes it greater in my opinion :) )! But the question is, what does the majority of the fans think? And that's why I created this pool... ^^

My take on it: it is not a shoujo-ai thing. Kirika and Mireille's relationship seems something so much stronger and deeper than romantic love that it would feel reductor to call it a "shoujo-ai thing". Actually, I take it that being Noir isn't about being romantically in love with someone as in a couple. My interpretation of it is that the bond between noir would probably resemble more that of twin sisters than lovers. And to finalize my theory, I would assume the main reason why it didn't worked out for Chloe was because she was looking at it from a shoujo-ai perspective.

(now's the part where all shoujo-ai supporters come to kill me I suppose... ^^; )

Anyway, what do you all think :?:

MADLAX / Anyone wanna complete my Madlax fanart?
« on: December 21, 2005, 08:04:23 PM »
I've posted this on the forum gallery:

Since I left the dreaming ballons empty feel free to fill them any way you want and post it back on this thread. Maybe something fun will come out of it... :p

Noir / Noir Flash Animation

El Cazador de la Bruja / Bee-Train's "girl-with-guns third one"
« on: October 17, 2005, 06:28:39 PM »
So, I'm sure many of you have heard about this already, but for those who haven't... it has been rumoured that Bee-Train's director Koichi Mashimo has his mind on making a third "girl-with-guns" anime series, that would complete the trilogy along with Noir and MADLAX!!!

So far all we have is a fragment of an interview contained on this Bee-Train related article on Newtype's March 2005 issue which says:

"Mashimo tells us that though the titles aren't directly related, he's always envisioned Noir and MADLAX as part of a trilogy of works featuring pistol-packing babes. He tells us that he already has a successor to MADLAX in mind. (Though judging by the double takes all around the table, it has yet to be confirmed -- you heard it here first...)"

And this one hint on ADV's MADLAX site:

"The potential exists that Noir and MADLAX may have closer ties, further observation will be necessary"

 It has also been speculated that, since Noir premiered on spring 2001, and MADLAX premiered on spring 2004, this "third" series would supposedely be out around spring 2007, following the three year gap logic... this is only fan speculation and nowhere near official though... ^^;

So, what do you all think of this? Heard of any more rumours? Any ideas you wanna share? Post it all here! :)

Noir / Noir Pockectwatch
« on: October 11, 2005, 09:51:27 AM »

Say, did anyone here actually managed to get this? I've heard there were very few of them, so anyone who has one might consider themselves really, really lucky! I so wanted it!!! ^^; I saw one once, for auction on ebay, people were actually bidding for it very fiercely... but it was way too expensive and I didn't have money at the time... Now I can hardly find any decent pictures of it on the net... I guess I just lost my chance, I'll never see it again! T_T DAMN :(
