The first Mashimo directed (not Bee-Train related) anime I first watched was some Robin Hood stuff I used to watch as a kid when I was 10 or something. Suposedelly called Robin Hood no Daiboken. It was quite the cool and dramatic kids show, I remember some characters died and there was blood in it and all! ^^; and yeah, it was really directed by Koichi Mashimo, according to anime news network! Here's the link for details: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1745
I also got to see another one of those Mashimo directed (not Bee-Train related) animes later on when I was already into anime per say. It was this show called Eat-man about a mercenary travelling in a post-apocaliptic world, who eated metal stuff like guns and other things and made them come out of his hands later on to make use of them... (yeah I know... :? it was really cool though ^^; and guess what, music by Yuki Kajiura! :mrgreen: ) Here's the link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=143
The first real Bee-Train show, Mashimo directed, soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura, that became my favorite anime ever, #1 on my ranking, was Noir though ^^ (as it should
)! I finished it on Summer of 2002, a bit later than most hardcore noir fans out there which probably watched it around the time of its original japanese release. ^^;
After that I made some research and came across .hack//SIGN which got to me mostly because of the soundtrack since I never really got to watch it till the end; .hack/LIMINALITY was an interesting OAV spin off from the tv series which I really liked. Then later on, I was already a Bee-Train/Yuki Kajiura fan when Avenger came up which I watched till the end and became one of my favorites till now (though the score wasn't by Yuki Kajiura on this one I must say ALI-Project made an excellent work on it!).
Then Madlax came in shortly after and it was like the next best thing! After watching Noir I though I'd never see anything able to impress me the same way, but Madlax did.
Of course now, since Madlax ended I've been agonizing a little over shows like Meine Liebe and Tsubasa Chronicles and I'm sure Spider Riders is one more to go ^^; and there'll probably be more like that by Bee-Train until the so expected "third one" shows up (if it ever will) around spring of 2007! Let's hope for it! ^^
