For friendship, for glory, and for the happiness of pandas everywhere, you are cordially invited to visit the town of Baaninfstree!

Baaninfstree is a town which can be entered and left at leisure by any role played character at any time. Since all interaction takes place through description and dialogue, there are no specific requirements or restrictions on what kind of character you have. You might think of it as a facility for general role-play and conversation, like Root Town in .hack//SIGN.
There is no specific end to role-playing in Baaninfstree, though if you "explore" and talk to many of the characters you might find there, you will be able to unravel a mystery, and the true identity of a Bee Train-y villain who is hidden among the citizens.
But, I wish that players use the town of Baaninfstree for whatever purpose they desire. You could use it in the person of a D&D character (
see D&D BTF 1.0 Documents and Information Thread), or you could use it in the person of a different character that has not been D&D-ized, or even with multiple characters! The only limitation is your imagination.
The purpose of Baaninfstree is to have an area which people can explore and interact in freely, without having to worry about serving a specific end or goal, rather like an mmorpg. You might interact with other player characters, with my NPCs, or with other NPCs that other DMs create.
This is an opportunity not only for players to have fun, but also for Dungeon Masters who wish to host their own RPGs and don't want to go through the trouble of creating a starting point/base for their adventures. Baaninfstree has lodging, shops, pre-made NPCs, and a website to track changes in the data, all of which I hope you might find helpful in designing your own quest. Or, if you have a hiatus in a quest and don't know how to fill the gap, you could send your players to Baaninfstree for a rest or a change of scenery

Towards the end of this week, I will start the Baaninfstree IC threads (there will be two to begin with, one for the Inn and one for everyplace else). If you want to reserve rights to playing a given Bee Train character in Baaninfstree, you should speak up now
There is no recruitment deadline for Baaninfstree; one may come and leave as one wishes.
