[forlornhope] My problem with ali project is all their songs sound the same after a while

[Noirlax] Visually the first episode is very strong and the camera angles quite inventive.

[MartAnimE] yeah I liked the first episode, they throw us into the middle of the action first and then show a flashback
[MartAnimE] in the game you just start from Zwei's perspective, when he wakes with no memories, it's more linear
[Noirlax] oh I see I never played the game, I don't mind the story starting out like that. The pacing is certainly faster and more action oriented, I can see why younger audiences might like this more.
[MartAnimE] well in the game you play as Zwei, so it makes more sense to show things through his perspective
[MartAnimE] the anime can afford to be more flexible about it
[Noirlax] yeah true and a game's story might not suit the anime medium
[MartAnimE] the anime seemed like they wanted to introduce all the main characters, even if briefly
[Noirlax] It's good teasing too!
[MartAnimE] in the game it's just Zwei and Ein for a while, while she's training him
[Noirlax] pew pew
[Noirlax] What are your first impressions James?
[MartAnimE] also, I think they aged them in the anime, in the game Ein and Zwei are supposed to be 14 and 15 :open_mouth:

[MartAnimE] but yeah, it would be odd
[BeyondTime] I think you probably have to be met by an adult, but there is the legal issue of crossing customs with a signature that isnt legally binding.
[MartAnimE] and it would gather a lot more attention from the police once he went missing, probably
[BeyondTime] Kids go missing all the time though.
[BeyondTime] And most of them are never seen again.
[AlexShadow] that's true but the story is pretty soon after his disappearance the search would be very active
[MartAnimE] I just think when an underage person goes missing there's more concern overall
[BeyondTime] If he stayed in the same area sure, but if he went missing in Tokyo and is in New York I doubt anyone would notice.
[BeyondTime] If the police ran his prints they would know.

[BeyondTime] They had a sword fight, and then she forked her.
[Noirlax] And you go through the sentimentality of him and the photos

[BeyondTime] The two times Kirika beat Chloe.

[AlexShadow] to me they invoke more feelings of sentimentality compared to Noir
[BeyondTime] El Caz is more sentimental than either Noir or Madlax.
[MartAnimE] well it helps it has more characters and consequently more relationships and dynamics
[MartAnimE] I think all three have their warm fuzzy moments
[BeyondTime] Madlax has more sentimentality than Noir for the most part. Noir has a few sentimental moments that are better than Madlax or Cazzy though.
[MartAnimE] but yes, Cazzy is a lot less dark
[MartAnimE] and allows for more of those moments
[Noirlax] I think you have a point there James
[BeyondTime] Cazzy has an easier time building a positive relationship between Nadie and Ellis. It's a light hearted show.

[BeyondTime] Noir builds a more powerful bond between Kirika and Mireille with fewer positive moments than Cazzy, and it makes it work.
[Noirlax] I had to say ep 4 for Phantom was better for me than 2 or 3 but we were doing preparation I guess.

[Noirlax] I'm glad I watched it again, there are some great things about Phantom, it's mature in its content, not so subtle or ambigious.

[MartAnimE] I think it has to move fast because, unlike Kirika or Madlax, Zwei is still learning the trade at the beginning of the show
