Koveras, I think you're a bit unclear as to what villainy is. Usually it entails doing BAD things.

...oh wait, that would be a bad thing since then you'd break up both Madlax/Vanessa and everybody else's chances with either of them.

Primarily the latter, because I don't mind Maddie and V cheating on me... with each other, that is. :D

Incidentally, all else being equal I tend to go for brunettes in pretty much all situations, but the whole hair colour thing's not that big a deal for me.

Nah, don't say so. "Blond" is not just a hair color, natural blond is a state of mind. Blond girls are highly unusual beings with many a pleasant feature. %)

Why am I not remotely surprised? ;D

Because you wouldn't mind that for yourself? ::)

If I could, I would have done so immediately. :P It's just that my past and present relationships with blond girls have a distinctive feel to them that I haven't experienced with other people and which I'm at a loss of words to explain to someone who didn't experience it firsthand. ^^;

I can honestly say that I haven't had that experience. Most blonde girls whom I know actually tend to have been influenced by societal expectations into acting and eventually actually being quite dull and uninteresting. Remember, I'm pretty much exclusively a fan of either Vanessa-types or Ryougi-types; I do NOT do dull or uninteresting when it comes to women. ;)

I hear ye. :P I may have had different background from you but although I admit that many blond girls are forced to act according to a stereotype, many of those I knew only wore a mask of that, which they readily cast off if I managed to notice it. :)

I think in this country stereotypes and masks tend to ossify. That's partially my problem romantically, and it's why I really need to get out of the country.

I couldn't say it better myself...though it's not just the romances that suffer  :-\

Oh, certainly not! I just find it hard to date my countrywomen because of the masks that have grown into their true faces (dear Lord, I sound like an Instrumentality-style supervillain!). Also I grew up in a rural-but-liberal area and now live in a conservative suburban area; I think that I would have more in common with people who grew up in rural parts of other countries than I do with people who grew up in urban parts of this one. I need to travel to Europe and the Pacific Rim; I know, the grass is always greener, but it couldn't hurt, and Britain, France, and Japan all have long cultural traditions of pointing out superficiality and fakeness rather than trying to make it true. I need a new set of problems to deal with; I'm not getting anywhere with the ones I have now.

You should come to Germany. %) Germans hate pretending, so if you survive the first wave of suspicion, they are pretty easy to get along with. Oh, and they've got great beer. =) The only problem is that they mostly don't speak English...

Isn't German citizenship based on descent rather than residence, though? I don't want to be a man without a country. Plus I don't speak German; I'll stick with Britain (whose language I already know) and possibly Japan (whose language I don't 'speak' per se but have some weird intuitive understanding of for some reason). Thanks for the offer, though. ;)

Nah, if you live here long enough (normally, five years, I think), you'll be treated as a German citizen (mostly), even if you formally aren't one. And you can apply for citizenship if you can learn the basic German, have a job, and meet a few other criteria.

Well, in ~2-3 years I'm moving more-or-less permanently to Britain and Japan (yeah, kind of...going back and forth for a bit; probably I'll end up settling in Britain), so I'll at least have a new set of challenges and maybe be able to equalise my relations with other people somewhat.

Well, once you get to Britain, drop me a line and I'll tell you where all the best pubs are ;) Btw - I thought you were English when you first joined the forum. You have very English mannerisms. This is good thing in Kaviland.

Now, in deep retrospect, I'd say that the dynamic between the two of them is my favorite character (if a dynamic between characters can be a character in itself... ;) )

...After much pondering, I believe that a dynamic cannot be a character but it can be validly preferred to characters as, shall we say, a feature of the series.

That doesn't help Tahaan's love life though.
