 Yeah, technically, El Cazador in Spanish does make sense. The translation is actually accurate enough and the metrics and rhythm of the song feel natural. They did a good job, I think.

Strangely enough, all Spanish anime song fandubs I heard up until now have scored from good to exceptional in terms of quality. Not so much the case with English fandubs and *shudders* Russian ones (of which only one I heard was good).

 Maybe that's due to the sound, rhythm and metric similarity between Spanish and Japanese languages.

It may be something like that, yes. In fact, from what little I know about Spanish, it is much more open about its vowels than English, making it much more fluid and melodic, like Japanese. On the other hand, Russian language is equally open in that aspect... I guess it much more a matter of love and dedication invested into a particular translation than anything else. ^^
