FictionJunction YUUKA is a part of Yuki Kajiura's FictionJunction solo project, a collaboration between Kajiura and seiyū Nanri Yuuka. The pair first met at South Aoyama Female Opera Group (Jap. 南青山少女歌劇団 Minami Aoyama Shōjo Kageki Dan), also known as Nansho, a stage group for teenage girls where Kajiura wrote music for some of the plays and Nanri was a performer. Saeko Chiba, with whom Nanri performed as now-defunct group tiaraway, was also a member of the troupe.

Their first recording was Wheel of Dawn (Jap. 暁の車 Akatsuki no Kuruma) which was used as an insert song in the highly popular mecha anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. Thus far, they have released five singles (two for Madlax, two for the Gundam SEED series, and the most recent one for .hack//Roots). They have also released one album, Destination, which entered the Oricon Weekly Rankings at No.9.
